FAQ 279
How will my attendance be monitored?

If you are in the UK, you must attend your classes in person. We are using a system called Study Goal to monitor your attendance. You lecturers will provide you with a code at the start of your classes and you will need to enter the code into this weblink. If you do not have a device that you can use, please let your lecturer know. If your lecturer does not provide you with a code please ensure that you request one.

Information about how to use Study Goal is available here. If you have any issues accessing the Study Goal weblink please contact IT Support.

If you are outside of the UK, your engagement will be monitored through your online engagement with your course.

Whether you are already in the UK or haven’t travelled yet the data gathered through Study Goals or the electronic sources is fed into a system called SEAtS. The system then looks at the last date that you engaged with your course. It will then move you automatically between stages if you do not engage as expected. Please see the Attendance and Engagement Policy section for further information. Any emails sent from the system will be sent from notifications@southwales.seats.cloud. Please ensure that you read any emails carefully.

This will enable the University to meet its attendance monitoring obligation and confirm to the UKVI (Home Office) that you are actively engaged in your studies.

If you have difficulties attending University, please discuss this with your  Advice Zone so that your immigration status is not put at risk.

If you are unable to engage as you are unwell, please email your course leader and internationalengagement@southwales.ac.uk as soon as you can so that we can provide you with any support you may need.

The UKVI (Home Office) can ask for your attendance monitoring data at any time, so it is important that you are following the University's attendance monitoring, please see here for more information.

FYI: This only applies to Tier 4/Student Route International students.
