Fixed address placements for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Programmes - How do I claim travel expenses?

For all Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health Programmes

For fixed address placements (where you travel to one location and remain at that location for the entire shift) travel expenses are calculated automatically once your placement timesheets are submitted and approved by your practice supervisor/practice educator. 


Eligible travel expenses are calculated using the journey distance from your term time address to your placement address, MINUS your normal term time address to University journey distance.


Please note:

In line with HEIW policy – placement timesheets approved any later than three months from the end of your placement, will not be eligible for reimbursement and cannot be processed by USW.  Please ensure your practice supervisor/practice educator approves your timesheets weekly, so you receive your reimbursement at the end of each calendar month.
