Placements for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Programmes– Can I work/undertake paid employment in addition to my course?

For all Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health Programmes

You may undertake additional paid hours within a healthcare setting and be employed through various resource banks within our partner organisations.  Paid hours cannot be counted as part of your course practice hours.

However, you have a professional responsibility to ensure;

that you are fit to attend your placement and/or University,

the safety of those under your care,

to look after your own health and well-being.

You must not wear your student uniform whilst undertaking resource bank work, as you are not a student when undertaking paid employment.

Please note:

Should you become subject to any type of investigation as part of paid employment outside of your healthcare course, you must inform your personal tutor and course leader by email at the earliest opportunity.
