I'm a CertHE student - why is my student maintenance loan reduced?
The Certificate in Higher Education (Cert HE) is a one-year stand-alone course and is designed for students who do not quite meet the entry criteria to go directly onto year 1 of a named degree. September start CertHE courses normally end in June therefore Student Maintenance loans for students on CertHE courses are based on a period of study from September to June. Degree courses normally run September to September and so maintenance loans for students on degree courses are therefore based on a period of study from September to September.
