FAQ 513
What is an Extenuating Circumstances Panel?

The Extenuating Circumstances Panel meets to discuss and consider complex claims for Extenuating Circumstances or requests to interrupt studies. The Panel comprises a chair, who is an academic member of staff, a minimum of three other members of academic staff, each from a different faculty and a senior member of staff from the Advice Zone. Other university staff may also be invited in an advisory capacity. The Terms of Reference of the Extenuating Circumstances Panel can be found here.
