You will need to register with a GP Practice in your local area to be able to book an appointment with a Doctor. Some surgeries will agree to see you as a temporary patient. How you make an appointment will vary from practice to practice, you can phone them, but there may also be an option on their website to request a call back from them, this is called an E-Consult. Or, they may have a mobile app that you can download and use to request an appointment. Please visit your GP practices website to see what options are available to you.
If you are registered with the GP on Treforest campus (Ashgrove Surgery) the USW Nurses can book you an appointment or you can request an “on campus” appointment when you speak to the receptionists at the surgery.
Before you contact your Doctor, it is worth considering using the Common Ailment Service - a free NHS service that patients can access for advice and treatment of 26 conditions. Search for a pharmacy near you and find out whether they take part in the scheme.
